We are Hearing the Little Heartbeats, a student-run, Canadian Nonprofit Organization. Comprised entirely of university students, our team exemplifies student leadership in global health. We seek to find our place and do our part to combat the effects of the drug shortage and increase accessibility to medications and medical supplies in Guatemala. On this journey we are learning to be better students, better advocates and better leaders. Join us!
Our blog has three segments: Battle, Advocate, Lead. These embody our main focuses as we aim to provide useful insights, information and inspiration for those seeking to go out and effect change.
The Battle section of the blog follows our nonprofit work at HLH as we strive to increase accessibility to medications and supplies for clinics in Guatemala. You will meet our student leadership team, be kept up to date on our events and breakthroughs, and learn the why behind what we do.
The Advocate section is dedicated to global health awareness. You will receive insightful and thought provoking pieces on international health initiatives and volunteerism, as well as mission trip stories and information on how to effectively make an impact in the area of global health. If you are interested in the issue of health inequalities across the globe, have a passion for societal injustice, or want to get involved and make a difference, this is for you!
The Lead section is all about student life and leadership. This is for those who are, or seek to be leaders among their peers. With tips on university life, effective leadership, professional schools and nonprofit startup, we hope to empower and equip those who desire to stand up and make a difference in their generation.
