Introducing: Our Vice President

Olejuru Anozie
Hi everyone, my name is Olejuru. I am in my last year of school, studying psychology with a minor in biology at the King’s University. I was born in South Africa but I am originally from Nigeria and currently live in Canada. I am very passionate about children and hope to become a medical doctor.

When I was little, my family often relocated across various countries and cities. This exposure allowed me to not only appreciate, but also become sensitive to the beauty found in diversity and culture. In addition, these experiences educated me on the major imbalances that exist across geographical, political, racial and social borders.

I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Guatemala when I was 16 and that trip changed my life. I was deeply touched by what I saw and experienced there, and my heart became distressed at the sight of such large imbalances between the extremely rich and the extremely poor. I was pained at the realization that hospitals were often the last resort for dying people, rather than a primary contact for healing. What hurt me the most was the fact that most of these patients were children. So when Azeria approached me with the opportunity of becoming a partner in this organization, I knew that it was my chance to take part in an effort that strives to address issues so dear to my heart.

As the Vice President of this organization, I hope to use my God-given communication and organizational skills to encourage others to join in an act of compassion and to hear the little heartbeats of Guatemala. I am convinced that by aiding our brothers and sisters in Guatemala, we become enablers and supporters. I know that if we all join together, these little heartbeats can become strong heartbeats that will shake our world and change nations for the better.
Together we can make an impact on the health of the nations and the generations to come.
